Common Questions

Everything you need to know about working at BrightMinds Tutoring.

Do I need a teaching certificate to apply for tutor roles? +
While a teaching certificate is preferred for K-12 roles, it's not strictly required if you have a degree in the subject area and demonstrable tutoring/mentoring experience. University-level and specialized test prep roles focus more on subject mastery and communication skills.
What tech stack do your engineering roles use? +
Our platform is built on React/Next.js, Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL. We use AWS for infrastructure, Figma for design, and modern CI/CD pipelines. We value clean architecture, accessibility, and performance optimization.
Can I work remotely outside the US? +
Yes! We're a globally distributed team with employees in 15+ countries. We provide equipment stipends, local payroll compliance, and timezone-friendly meeting practices. Check each role's location tag for specifics.
How do you evaluate teaching candidates? +
We use a practical demo session where you teach a short concept to our assessment panel. We look for clarity, adaptability, student-centered approaches, and cultural alignment. Grades and degrees matter less than how you connect with learners.
