• Disagreements about openings, tactics, or theory are encouraged, but must remain constructive.
• Avoid inflammatory language, trolling, or intentional baiting.
• Respect cultural differences and diverse backgrounds within our global community.

02 Posting Standards

Quality content drives our community forward. Please follow these standards when creating threads or replying.

Formatting & Structure

• Use descriptive, clear titles. Avoid clickbait or vague phrases like "Help!" or "GMs come here".
• When sharing games, always include PGN notation or a board link with clear context.
• Use markdown formatting appropriately: code blocks for PGN, bold for emphasis, lists for readability.

Content Categories

• Opening Theory: Cite sources when sharing novel ideas or databases.
• Tactical Training: Provide solutions to puzzles; don't just drop links without context.
• Off-Topic: Keep non-chess discussions in designated social channels.

03 Fair Play & Integrity

The integrity of chess is paramount. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward cheating and engine abuse in competitive contexts.

Analysis Threads: Using engines in post-game analysis is encouraged and expected. Clearly label engine-assisted evaluations when sharing.

04 Intellectual Property

We respect creators and publishers. Please adhere to fair use and proper attribution.

• Do not upload copyrighted books, paid courses, or premium media without explicit permission.
• Credit original authors when sharing diagrams, articles, or video timestamps.
• Public domain games and freely available resources may be shared freely.
• DMCA takedown requests can be submitted via dmca@chessmasterforum.com.

05 Privacy & Safety

Your safety and data privacy are core priorities.

• Never share personal information (real name, address, phone, social media) in public threads.
• Do not solicit or distribute users' private data (doxxing).
• Keep rating profiles and game history visible by default; privacy settings are available for minors.
• Report suspicious behavior, phishing attempts, or unauthorized account access immediately.

06 Moderation & Appeals

Our moderation team enforces these guidelines consistently and transparently.

Enforcement Tiers

1. Warning: Minor infractions (e.g., off-topic posting, mild formatting issues)
2. Thread Lock / Post Removal: Repeated violations or moderate rule breaks
3. Temporary Suspension: Severe or repeated offenses (7–30 days)
4. Permanent Ban: Cheating, harassment, doxxing, or repeated bans

Appeals: If you believe an action was taken in error, submit a formal appeal through the support portal. All appeals are reviewed within 48 hours by senior moderators.
