When you interact with our marketing websites, documentation portals, or promotional campaigns, we may collect the following categories of data:

  • Usage & Interaction Data: Pages visited, content downloaded, webinars attended, and campaign engagement metrics.
  • Technical & Device Information: IP address (hashed or anonymized), browser type, operating system, and device identifiers for cross-device consistency.
  • First-Party Identifiers: Email address, name, and company name (only when voluntarily provided via forms, newsletters, or trial sign-ups).
  • Cookie & Tracking Data: Preference cookies, analytics identifiers, and campaign attribution tags.

We do not collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health, finances, biometrics, or precise geolocation) for advertising purposes.

3. How We Use Your Data

Data collected for advertising and marketing is processed for the following purposes:

  • Contextual Advertising: Serving relevant content based on the page you're viewing (e.g., showing Kubernetes guides when you visit our containerization docs).
  • Campaign Measurement & Attribution: Understanding which marketing channels drive traffic and conversions to optimize our campaigns.
  • Retargeting & Re-engagement: Showing relevant CloudNexus promotional content to users who previously visited our site or interacted with our materials.
  • Direct Communications: Sending product updates, webinars, security advisories, and infrastructure insights to opted-in subscribers.
  • Personalization: Tailoring website experiences, documentation recommendations, and demo content based on your technical stack preferences.

4. Advertising Technologies & Tracking

We use industry-standard, privacy-respecting technologies to deliver and measure marketing efforts:

  • First-Party Cookies: Essential for remembering preferences, maintaining session state, and providing consistent user experiences.
  • Analytics Pixels: Lightweight scripts that track page views, click-through rates, and campaign performance. All data is aggregated and anonymized where possible.
  • Server-Side Tagging: We process tracking events server-side to reduce client-side footprint and enhance data security.
  • Consent Management Platform (CMP): Users are presented with a clear, granular cookie consent banner upon first visit. No non-essential tracking begins without explicit consent.

5. Third-Party Partners & Data Sharing

We partner with trusted advertising technology providers and marketing automation platforms. These partners act strictly as processors under our instructions and are bound by Data Processing Agreements (DPAs). Shared data is limited to what is necessary for campaign execution and measurement.

Current partner categories include:

  • Marketing Automation & Email Delivery (e.g., SendGrid, HubSpot)
  • Web Analytics & Conversion Tracking (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel)
  • Ad Verification & Fraud Prevention

We do not share data with data brokers, third-party ad networks, or unverified aggregators.
