1 Overview & Scope

This policy outlines the conditions, procedures, and obligations associated with the termination of CyberVault services. It applies to all subscription tiers, enterprise contracts, and API integrations. Termination may be initiated by the Client or by CyberVault under specific circumstances defined herein.

⚠️ Important: Termination of service does not relieve either party of obligations accrued prior to the effective termination date, including outstanding invoices, data retention compliance, or confidentiality agreements.

2 Grounds for Termination

CyberVault may suspend or terminate services under the following conditions:

Clients may terminate their subscription at any time through the customer portal or by submitting a formal request to billing@cybervault.io.

3 Termination Process & Notice Period

Upon initiation of termination, the following workflow applies:

  1. Notice: A minimum 30-day written notice is required for enterprise contracts. Month-to-month plans terminate at the end of the current billing cycle.
  2. Grace Period: During the notice period, all monitoring, logging, and response capabilities remain fully active.
  3. Final Audit: Our SOC team will conduct a final security posture review and generate a termination readiness report.
  4. Effective Date: Service ceases at 23:59 UTC on the agreed termination date. All API tokens, agent licenses, and dashboard access will be revoked.

4 Data Handling & Deletion

CyberVault adheres to strict data lifecycle policies aligned with SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and ISO 27001 standards.

📥 Data Export: Clients are responsible for exporting custom dashboards, alert rules, and integrated webhook configurations prior to the effective termination date. CyberVault will not retain custom configurations beyond the 30-day grace window.

Yes. Plan downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. Feature parity will be maintained until then, and excess licenses will be gracefully deprecated. Contact your account manager to initiate a downgrade.
All open tickets will be resolved or formally closed during the grace period. Final forensic reports and chain-of-custody documentation will be delivered via secure transfer before access is revoked.
Accounts terminated within 180 days are eligible for reactivation with a one-time restoration fee. Historical data may be partially restored depending on compliance retention windows. Accounts terminated for security violations are permanently banned.
Endpoint agents will automatically enter "maintenance mode" 48 hours before termination and self-uninstall at the effective date. Manual removal scripts are available in the portal for advanced users who require immediate decommissioning.
