Overview & User Rights
You are free to cancel your Dictionary subscription or delete your account at any time without penalty or obligation. Termination does not require advance notice, and your access will continue until the end of your current billing cycle unless explicitly requested otherwise.
💡 Note: Cancelling your subscription stops future billing. Deleting your account permanently removes all personal data. You may choose to do either or both.

Follow these steps to cancel your active subscription:
- Log in to your Dictionary account at app.dictionary.com
- Navigate to Settings → Billing & Subscription
- Click Cancel Subscription next to your current plan
- Select a reason for cancellation (optional) and confirm via email
Once confirmed, you will receive an immediate email receipt. Your premium features will remain active until the end of your paid period. No further charges will be applied.
How to Delete Your Account
To permanently delete your account and all associated data:
- Go to Settings → Account → Privacy & Data
- Scroll to Delete Account and click the button
- Enter your password for verification
- Confirm deletion in the final prompt
⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All saved word lists, flashcards, search history, and custom dictionaries will be erased.
Data Handling & Privacy
We are committed to transparent data management. Upon account deletion:
- All personally identifiable information (PII) is permanently removed from our active databases within 30 days
- Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics and service improvement, as outlined in our Privacy Policy
- Legal and financial records are retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and regulatory requirements
- You can export all your data (word lists, notes, activity logs) in JSON or CSV format before deletion
For detailed information on how we process and protect your information, please review our Privacy Policy and Data Retention Notice.
