Our Commitment to Accessibility

SereneMind is dedicated to ensuring digital equity for individuals of all abilities. We believe mental health and mindfulness resources should be accessible to everyone.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It is part of W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

SereneMind is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Accessibility Features

We have implemented several features to ensure our platform is usable by people with diverse abilities:

Screen Reader Compatible

Full compatibility with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. Proper ARIA landmarks and live regions.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements are operable using Tab, Shift+Tab, and arrow keys without trapping focus.

Color & Contrast

Text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios. Information is not conveyed by color alone.

Text Resizing

Content remains usable and functional when text is scaled up to 200% using browser zoom.

Media Accessibility

All video content includes captions and transcripts. Audio tracks include descriptions.

Responsive Design

Seamless experience across all devices and assistive technologies with touch-target compliance.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas are currently being improved:

  • Legacy meditation session archives (pre-2023) lack complete audio descriptions.
  • Some third-party embedded analytics widgets do not fully comply with keyboard navigation standards.
  • PDF therapy resource downloads are currently undergoing a conversion process to accessible format.

We are actively working to resolve these issues and will update this page as improvements are made.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is not a destination but an ongoing commitment. SereneMind conducts regular internal audits, usability testing with individuals who use assistive technologies, and stays current with evolving W3C standards. Our development team integrates accessibility checks into every stage of the design and release process.

Thank you for helping us make mental wellness accessible to all.
