Teen Therapy FAQ

Transparent answers for teens and parents considering therapy.

Yes. We explain confidentiality clearly at the first session. Generally, what you share stays between you and your therapist, except in cases involving safety concerns (harm to self/others or abuse), where we are legally required to involve guardians.

Most teens start with weekly 50-minute sessions. Frequency can be adjusted based on progress, school schedules, and clinical recommendations. We offer evening and weekend slots for flexibility.

Individual teen sessions are for the teen only. We occasionally hold separate parent check-ins or joint family sessions when clinically appropriate, but this is always discussed and agreed upon with your teen first.

Resistance is normal. Our clinicians are skilled at building rapport, reducing stigma, and creating a low-pressure environment. Many teens who start reluctantly end up valuing their sessions as a personal safe space.
