📐 File Standards
Use parametric CAD formats (STEP/IGES) for 3D models and include 2D PDF drawings with full GD&T callouts. Avoid proprietary file versions older than 2020.
⚙️ Design for Manufacturing
Include draft angles for molded/cast parts, specify thread standards, and note any undercuts or complex geometries that may require special tooling.
📏 Tolerances & Finishes
Only specify tight tolerances where functionally critical. State surface finish requirements (e.g., Ra 0.8, bead blast, anodize type/color).
🔬 Testing & Certification
Indicate if you require material certs (CPC/MTR), PMI reports, CMM inspection, or industry-specific approvals (AS9100, FDA, ISO 13485).
📦 Packaging & Logistics
Specify if components require ESD-safe packaging, individual labeling, kitting, or special shipping documentation for international delivery.
