Welcome to the legal notices page for Terroir Cocoa. This document outlines the disclaimers, limitations of liability, and important notices regarding our products, website, and agricultural practices. By accessing our site and purchasing our products, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.
01. General Disclaimer
The information provided on the Terroir Cocoa website and in our product documentation is for general informational purposes only. While we strive to maintain accuracy and timeliness, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or availability of the information contained herein.
Your use of the website and any reliance on the information provided is strictly at your own risk. Terroir Cocoa reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue any content at any time without prior notice.
02. Product & Health Information
Our chocolate products are crafted from natural cacao beans and may contain or come into contact with common allergens including milk, nuts, soy, wheat, and gluten. While we maintain strict quality control protocols in our farm and processing facilities, cross-contamination cannot be entirely eliminated.
- Always review the ingredient list and allergen statement on product packaging before consumption.
- If you have known allergies, dietary restrictions, or health conditions, consult a qualified medical professional before consuming our products.
- Product descriptions, flavor profiles, and tasting notes are subjective and intended for general guidance. Individual sensory experiences may vary.
- Terroir Cocoa does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.
03. Agricultural & Natural Variations
Cacao is an agricultural product inherently subject to natural variation. Factors such as soil composition, climate, elevation, rainfall, fermentation conditions, and harvest cycles directly impact the final product.
⚠️ Please note: Batch-to-batch variations in color, weight, texture, and flavor profile are normal and reflect the authentic, single-origin nature of our cacao. These variations do not indicate defects or quality issues.
Terroir Cocoa does not guarantee identical sensory characteristics across different harvests or production runs. Our commitment lies in consistent quality standards, ethical sourcing, and artisanal craftsmanship rather than industrial uniformity.
04. Shipping & Temperature Sensitivity
Chocolate is highly sensitive to temperature and humidity fluctuations during transit. While we package all orders with care and include insulation materials, we cannot control external shipping conditions or carrier handling.
- Products may arrive soft, slightly melted, or show surface bloom (harmless sugar or fat crystallization) due to temperature exposure during transit.
- Temperature-related cosmetic changes do not affect product safety or quality when stored properly upon arrival.
- Customers are advised to inspect packages upon delivery and refrigerate products immediately if damage is suspected.
- Claims for temperature-related issues must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, accompanied by photographic evidence.
05. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Terroir Cocoa, its owners, employees, farmers, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your access to, use of, or inability to use our website or services.
- Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in website content or product information.
- Personal injury, allergic reactions, or health issues resulting from product consumption.
- Property damage or product defects, where such liability is not explicitly prohibited by law.
- Unforeseen shipping delays, loss, or damage beyond our reasonable control.
In no event shall Terroir Cocoa's total liability exceed the purchase price of the product or service giving rise to the claim.
06. Third-Party Links & Certifications
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, certification bodies, agricultural partners, or external resources. These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. Terroir Cocoa does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Quito, Ecuador.
