Important Usage & Safety Information

All Cup Source products are manufactured using food-grade, FDA-compliant materials. However, to ensure product integrity, customer safety, and regulatory compliance, please observe the following restrictions regarding temperature, usage, storage, and customization.

⚠️

Temperature & Application Limits

Exceeding maximum temperature thresholds may cause material degradation, leakage, or loss of structural integrity. Always match product type to beverage temperature.

Product Category Restrictions

🔥 Hot Beverage Cups

  • Maximum safe temperature: 212°F (100°C) for up to 4 hours
  • Not suitable for microwaving unless explicitly marked "Microwave Safe"
  • Peelable lids recommended for beverages above 180°F
  • Double-wall insulation reduces but does not eliminate external heat transfer

❄️ Cold & Frozen Beverage Cups

  • Optimal range: 32°F–80°F (0°C–26°C)
  • PET plastic cups may stiffen below 14°F (-10°C)
  • Not recommended for carbonated drinks unless vented lids are used
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for extended periods

🥣 Takeaway Bowls & Containers

  • Soup bowls rated for liquids up to 195°F (90°C)
  • Vented lids required for hot, steam-producing contents
  • Not dishwasher safe unless specified
  • Avoid stacking filled containers above 3 tiers

♻️ Compostable & Eco-Series

  • Industrial composting required (not backyard compost)
  • Degrades within 90–180 days under certified conditions
  • Keep dry before use; prolonged moisture weakens material
  • Cannot be recycled with standard PET/PP streams

Regulatory Compliance & Certifications

Material / Product Line Compliance Standards Restrictions Disposal Method
Standard Paper Cups (PE-Lined) FDA 21 CFR ISO 9001 Single-use only; not reusable Landfill or specialized paper recycling
Plant-Based Compostable Cups ASTM D6400 EN 13432 Industrial composting only; temperature sensitive Commercial composting facilities
PET Cold Cups & Bowls BPA-Free LFGB Not for hot liquids; UV degradation over time Recycle with #1 plastics (local rules apply)
Custom Printed Products SOY/Ink Certified FDA Indirect Food Contact Print area must not contact food/beverage interior Follow base material guidelines

Shipping, Storage & Handling Limits

📦 Bulk Order Restrictions

  • Maximum pallet weight: 4,500 lbs (2,040 kg) per shipment
  • Overseas freight requires moisture-barrier shrink wrap
  • Custom orders under 5,000 units may incur setup fees
  • Perishable/eco products must be stored in climate-controlled warehouses (55°F–75°F)

🖨️ Custom Printing Limitations

  • Minimum order quantity: 10,000 units per SKU
  • CMYK/Pantone color matching may vary ±5% due to substrate absorption
  • File requirements: 300 DPI, vector preferred, bleed 0.125"
  • Complex multi-color logos may require 10–14 business day lead time
💡

Storage Best Practice

Store all packaging in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight. Prolonged humidity exposure can weaken adhesive bonds on labels and compromise paper stiffness.
