Last Updated: March 15, 2025 | Effective Date: March 15, 2025

1. Overview

Welcome to RaiseIt. This policy outlines the requirements, rights, and responsibilities associated with creating and maintaining a user account on our crowdfunding platform. By accessing or using RaiseIt, you agree to comply with these terms alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

RaiseIt is committed to fostering a secure, transparent, and compliant environment for creators and backers worldwide. Account eligibility and verification standards help us prevent fraud, protect users, and ensure the integrity of every campaign.

2. Eligibility Requirements

To create and use a RaiseIt account, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
  • Legal Capacity: You must have the legal right and capacity to enter into binding agreements.
  • Residency & Sanctions: You must reside in a jurisdiction not subject to comprehensive economic sanctions or trade restrictions by applicable governments.
  • Valid Contact Information: You must provide a valid email address, phone number, and payment method where applicable.
  • Compliance: You must agree to comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws.

Note: Accounts created by minors, unauthorized third parties, or entities on restricted sanctions lists will be suspended immediately.

3. Account Creation & Management

Each individual or business entity is permitted one primary account on RaiseIt. Duplicate accounts used to manipulate campaigns, bypass restrictions, or artificially inflate support will be terminated.

Account Types

  • Creator Account: For individuals or entities launching fundraising campaigns.
  • Backer Account: For users contributing to campaigns or browsing projects.
  • Business/Enterprise Account: For organizations requiring advanced compliance, multi-user access, and dedicated support.

You are responsible for maintaining accurate profile information, including legal name, address, tax identification (if applicable), and campaign details. Failure to update critical information may result in payment delays or account restrictions.

4. Identity Verification (KYC)

To comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations, RaiseIt requires identity verification for all accounts that:

  1. Launch a crowdfunding campaign
  2. Receive funds exceeding platform thresholds
  3. Request account withdrawals or payouts

Verification may require submission of:

  • Government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID)
  • Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, or lease agreement)
  • Business registration documents (for entity accounts)
  • Bank account or payment processor confirmation

We process verification securely using encrypted channels and approved third-party providers. Incomplete or fraudulent submissions will result in immediate account suspension.

5. Security & Responsibility

You are solely responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and activity. RaiseIt recommends enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for all accounts.

  • Use strong, unique passwords and never share them with third parties.
  • Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access, suspicious activity, or credential compromise.
  • RaiseIt is not liable for losses resulting from your failure to secure account access or report breaches promptly.

6. Prohibited Activities

The following actions strictly violate our account policies and will result in immediate suspension or permanent termination:

  • Creating fake, bot-generated, or shell accounts
  • Using the platform for money laundering, terrorist financing, or illegal transactions
  • Manipulating campaign metrics through self-funding, coordinated rings, or fraudulent pledges
  • Impersonating other users, brands, or government entities
  • Circumending restrictions, sanctions, or geographic blocks
  • Using automated scripts, scrapers, or unauthorized APIs to interact with the platform

7. Suspension & Termination

RaiseIt reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, our Terms of Service, or applicable laws. Termination may be temporary or permanent.

In the event of termination:

  • Active campaigns may be paused or removed at our discretion
  • Unclaimed funds will be held in compliance with local regulations
  • Users will receive written notice outlining the reason and any appeal process where applicable

Fund Disclaimer: RaisedIt acts as a facilitator. We do not guarantee campaign success, fund availability, or project fulfillment. All risks associated with crowdfunding remain with the creator and backer.

8. Policy Modifications

We may update this policy to reflect changes in technology, compliance requirements, or platform operations. Material changes will be communicated via email and/or prominent notice on the platform at least 30 days prior to implementation. Continued use of your account after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
