Creating a SereneMind account grants you access to personalized mindfulness tools, therapy matching, and community features. We require accurate information to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 must have parental/guardian consent where required by local law.
- One Account Per User: To maintain personalized care and community integrity, each individual is permitted only one verified account.
- Verification: Email verification is required. Therapist and professional accounts undergo additional credential validation.
- Accuracy: You are responsible for keeping your profile information current. Misrepresentation of credentials or medical status violates our terms.

User Responsibilities
As a member of the SereneMind community, you play an active role in fostering a healing environment. Your responsibilities include:
Authentic Engagement
Use the platform for its intended purpose: mental wellness, mindfulness practice, and supportive connection. Avoid gaming systems or misusing features.
Self-Care Boundaries
Use our tools responsibly. If exercises intensify distress, pause and reach out to a professional or use our guided grounding techniques.
Respectful Communication
Maintain empathy in all interactions. Disagreements should be expressed constructively. Harassment, discrimination, or threats are strictly prohibited.
Report & Support
If you witness harmful behavior, self-harm indicators, or policy violations, use the in-app reporting tools. Timely reporting keeps everyone safe.
Privacy & Data Security
Your mental health data is highly sensitive. We employ industry-leading encryption and strict access controls to protect your information.
- Data Encryption: All session recordings, chat logs, and mood data are encrypted at rest and in transit (AES-256 & TLS 1.3).
- Access Controls: Only your assigned therapist or care team can access your clinical notes. Administrative staff have zero-knowledge access to therapy content.
- Compliance: We adhere to HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA standards. Your data is never sold to third parties or used for advertising.
- Password Hygiene: We recommend using a unique, strong password and enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in your account settings.

Community Standards
Our groups, forums, and peer support features thrive on mutual respect and psychological safety. The following behaviors are expected:
- Confidentiality: Do not share other members' personal information, screen recordings, or private conversations outside the platform.
- No Medical Advice: Peer support is not clinical therapy. Encourage members to consult licensed professionals for diagnosis or treatment plans.
- Trigger Warnings: When discussing sensitive topics (trauma, substance use, grief), use appropriate content warnings to respect boundaries.
- Zero Tolerance for Harm: Incitement of self-harm, glorification of eating disorders, hate speech, or harassment will result in immediate suspension.

Moderation & Appeal Process
Moderation is handled by a hybrid system of AI-assisted screening and human-trained well-being specialists. Our goal is corrective, not punitive.
- Strike System: Minor violations result in a warning and mandatory wellness education module. Repeated offenses lead to temporary suspension.
- Immediate Action: Severe violations (threats, illegal activity, exploitation) trigger instant account restriction pending review.
- Appeals: You may appeal any moderation decision within 14 days via the "Help & Support" center. Appeals are reviewed by an independent ethics committee within 5 business days.
Account Management & Deletion
You retain full control over your digital presence. Manage your settings anytime:
Pause Account
Temporarily hide your profile and disable notifications while retaining your data for future return.
Data Export
Download a complete archive of your mood logs, progress reports, and non-clinical activity.
Permanent Deletion: To permanently erase your account, navigate to Settings > Privacy > Delete Account. This action is irreversible. All therapy records are retained only as legally required by healthcare regulations and are otherwise purged from active systems.
