At Terroir Cocoa, we understand that premium chocolate is temperature-sensitive. Our packaging is engineered to protect your bars during transit, but we encourage planning to ensure optimal freshness.

All orders are carefully packaged in insulated, eco-friendly mailers with temperature-regulating gel packs during warm months (May–September).
Temperature & Weather Considerations
- We ship Monday–Wednesday only during summer months to avoid weekends in transit.
- If you live in a region with extreme heat or cold, we highly recommend expedited shipping.
- Chocolate may show temporary "bloom" (white streaks) if exposed to temperature fluctuations. This is a natural sugar/fat crystallization and does not affect safety or taste.
Order Tracking
Once your order leaves our Ecuadorian facility and enters the local distribution network, you'll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. Delivery estimates are provided by the carrier but are not guaranteed.
Returns & Exchanges
We want you to absolutely love your Terroir Cocoa experience. If for any reason you're not completely satisfied, we're here to help.
Return Eligibility
- Returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery.
- Items must be unopened, undamaged, and in original packaging.
- For food safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on opened or partially consumed products.
- Custom orders, gift sets, and limited edition releases are final sale unless damaged upon arrival.
How to Initiate a Return
- Contact our care team at returns@terroircocoa.com with your order number.
- You'll receive a prepaid return shipping label via email.
- Repackage the item securely and drop it off at your nearest carrier location.
- Once received and inspected, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days.
Refunds & Exchanges
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method. If you prefer an exchange, please note your desired product and quantity when contacting us. We will do our best to accommodate availability.
⚠️ Damaged or Melted Shipments: If your chocolate arrives damaged or melted due to shipping conditions, please photograph the packaging and product within 48 hours of delivery. We will replace your order or issue a full refund at no cost to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change or cancel my order after it's placed?
Orders can be modified or cancelled within 2 hours of placement. After that, items enter our packaging queue and cannot be altered.
Do you ship to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses?
Yes! We ship to P.O. Boxes, APO, FPO, and DPO addresses. Please note that expedited services may not be available for all military addresses.
How should I store my chocolate after it arrives?
Store in a cool, dry place between 60–70°F (15–21°C) away from direct sunlight, strong odors, and moisture. Refrigeration is not recommended as it can cause condensation and affect texture.
What is your policy on customs and duties for international orders?
Import duties, taxes, and customs fees are the responsibility of the recipient. We do not prepay these charges, and they are calculated by your local customs authority upon delivery.
