Welcome to our policy update log. At FamilyNest, we treat your family's privacy and safety as a living commitment. Below are 11 specific updates implemented between January–November 2024. Each change has been reviewed by legal counsel, child safety experts, and our community advisory board.

We have upgraded all family account data transmission and storage to AES-256 encryption with TLS 1.3 protocols. This applies to pregnancy logs, child development records, and private community messages.
Updated our moderation algorithms and human review protocols to better filter age-inappropriate content in community forums. Added stricter rules around sharing children's identifiable information.
We now disclose exactly which analytics partners access platform data and for what purposes. All third-party tracking now requires explicit opt-in during onboarding.
Previously, forum posts were publicly indexed by default. Now, all community posts are private by default. Users must explicitly enable public visibility or search indexing.
Implemented step-up verification for users registering as ages 13–17. Includes parent/guardian consent confirmation and usage time limits aligned with COPPA and GDPR-K standards.
Cleaned up our cookie usage. Removed 14 unnecessary tracking cookies. Categorized remaining cookies into Strictly Necessary, Functional, and Performance with granular toggle controls.
One-on-one video/audio consultations with FamilyNest experts are now recorded only with explicit dual consent. Recordings are stored separately, auto-deleted after 90 days, and never used for training AI models.
Added one-click data export (PDF/CSV) for all family logs, milestones, and messages. Simplified account deletion to 3 steps with a 30-day grace period for recovery.
Granular email/SMS preferences now allow opting into specific categories (e.g., Toddler Tips, Teen Guidance, Platform Updates). No more bulk opt-outs.
Platform now meets WCAG 2.2 AA standards. Added screen reader optimizations, high-contrast mode, dyslexia-friendly font toggle, and keyboard navigation for all policy documents.
Migrated to PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment gateways. Added 3D Secure 2.0 for all transactions, automatic fraud detection, and real-time billing alerts via SMS/email.
