Advanced Casting Capabilities

MetalCore operates a fully integrated casting facility equipped with automated furnaces, vacuum systems, and computer-controlled mold handling. Our process engineers work alongside your team to optimize metallurgy, gating systems, and cooling rates for optimal part performance.

Specialized Casting Methods

We select the optimal casting technique based on your geometry, volume, material requirements, and cost targets.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Die Casting

High-pressure injection of molten metal into precision steel molds. Ideal for complex, thin-wall components with excellent surface finish and tight tolerances.

Tolerance: ยฑ0.1% to ยฑ0.5%

โณ Sand Casting

Versatile process using reusable sand molds. Perfect for large, heavy components, low to medium volumes, and alloys with high melting points.

Parts: 0.5kg to 500kg+

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Permanent Mold

Gravity or low-pressure casting into reusable metal molds. Offers better mechanical properties than sand casting with improved dimensional consistency.

Best for: Medium-High Volume

๐Ÿ’Ž Investment Casting

Lost-wax process for extremely complex geometries, fine details, and superior surface quality. Minimal post-machining required.

Surface: Ra 1.6-3.2 ฮผm

Casting Process Questions

What is the typical lead time for casting projects?

Tooling typically takes 4-8 weeks depending on complexity. Once molds are approved, production lead times range from 1-3 weeks for most volumes. We offer expedited scheduling for urgent programs.

Do you offer prototype casting before full production?

Yes. We provide soft-tooling prototypes using aluminum molds or rapid sand casting in as little as 2 weeks. This allows validation of fit, function, and design optimization before hard steel tooling.

What are the standard tolerances you can achieve?

Tolerances depend on the process and part size. Die casting: ยฑ0.1% to ยฑ0.5%. Investment casting: ยฑ0.15mm to ยฑ0.5mm. Sand casting: ยฑ1.5% to ยฑ3%. We work within your GD&T requirements during design for manufacturability.

Can you provide post-casting services?

Absolutely. We offer machining, heat treatment, surface finishing (anodizing, powder coat, plating), tumbling, shot blasting, assembly, and kitting. Everything under one roof reduces lead times and costs.

What documentation is provided with shipments?

Each batch includes First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, material certifications, heat lot traceability, NDT results, and packing lists. PPAP packages are available for automotive and aerospace clients.
