No prior experience is required. The WFA course is designed for beginners and outdoor professionals alike. All foundational concepts are taught from the ground up.
Yes. Our WFA certification is NREMT-aligned and widely accepted by guide companies, national parks, outdoor education programs, and adventure tourism employers.
You will receive a complete student field kit upon registration. We recommend bringing comfortable outdoor clothing, sturdy boots, sunscreen, and a personal first aid kit for daily use.
No. Wilderness medicine requires hands-on practice. Our program is 100% in-person with simulated field scenarios. A hybrid option is under development for 2026.
Our goal is competency, not elimination. If you need additional practice, instructors will provide targeted review and a re-assessment window at no extra cost before course completion.
